Shrouded in Grief

I walk, invisible, along the shore
I begin to wonder whether I even still exist,
As a physical entity.
Or am I only this void full of pain.
That slowly leaks the last of its substance,
Away into the absorbing earth.
Who would have thought it would have hurt so much?
But, I guess, it should not, after all, be so surprising
That the despair, now,
Is as great as the joy, then.
